Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 August 2026. This policy explains what data London Fog Guide collects, why, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
London Fog Guide (“we”, “us”) is an independent editorial website publishing buying guides for rainwear and travel gear. For privacy questions, contact privacy@londonfogguide.com.
2. Data we collect
- Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you include in the message.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider logs IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamps for security and abuse prevention.
- Analytics data. If you consent to analytics cookies, we collect aggregated page views, approximate region and device type to understand which guides are useful.
- Affiliate click data. When you click an outbound shopping link, the retailer may record the referral so a commission can be attributed.
We do not collect payment details, we do not sell personal data, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
3. Why we process data and on what basis
- Legitimate interests: keeping the site secure, preventing abuse and answering your messages.
- Consent: optional analytics and any marketing cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: retaining records where the law requires it.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to remember your consent choice, and optional analytics cookies only after you accept them. Affiliate networks may set their own cookies when you click an outbound link. Full detail, categories and how to change your choice are in our Cookie & Consent Management page.
5. Sharing
We share data only with processors that operate the site: our hosting provider, our analytics provider (where consented), and email delivery. Affiliate networks act as independent controllers of the click data they record under their own policies.
6. Retention
Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Aggregated analytics is retained for up to 26 months. Email correspondence is kept for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents may request disclosure and deletion and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; we do not sell personal information. Email privacy@londonfogguide.com and we will respond within 30 days.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to any collected data is limited to people who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes
We update this policy when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage.
