- Lining
- Look for a zip-out or button-out liner if you want three-season use. A permanently attached lining is warmer in November but uncomfortable in a mild, damp spring.

- Short trenches stop above the knee and read modern; classic lengths sit just below the knee and cover more when you are standing at a bus stop.
- Fit
